2 · THE CORE

Korean lets the predicate finish the sentence.

저는 커피를 마셔요.

Put the information that prepares the scene first. Let the action complete it at the end.

3 · DECISION PROCEDURE

Build the sentence in four visible moves.

  1. Underline the English action or state.
  2. Choose the Korean predicate.
  3. Move that predicate to the end.
  4. Add the supplied particles.

4 · PATTERN DRILL

Keep the frame. Change one item.

저는 커피를 마셔요.I drink coffee.
저는 물을 마셔요.I drink water.
저는 차를 마셔요.I drink tea.

5–6 · RECOGNITION & PRODUCTION

Choose first, then produce.

Choose: Which sentence means “Mina reads a book”?

Do not carry English order into Korean.

This is a safe beginning pattern, not an absolute rule for every Korean sentence.
